How to get to the Møllerup Gods?

Below you will find a lot of options on how to get to the venue. Guests are welcome at the venue from Friday the July 31st. The wedding will be the following day, Saturday August 1st.

Most international guests will travel via Aarhus, which is the nearest city and main transport hub.

Airports:

  • Copenhagen Airport

  • Billund Airport

  • Aarhus Airport

  • Aalborg Airport

  • Hamburg Airport

Copenhagen Airport

Copenhagen Airport is the largest airport in Denmark. It is circa three to four hours from Aarhus & three and half to four and half hours from the venue. Several options for Flights from Dublin, with Ryanair, Scandinavian Airlines and Norwegian.

Train

  • Direct from Copenhagen Airport to Aarhus, you can book tickets here.

  • Can book two months in advance for the cheapest option (orange tickets). ‘

  • Recommended to book a seat, cost extra but you will be guaranteed a seat.

  • The train also goes from Copenhagen Central station, if you wish to spend some days in Copenhagen.

Bus/Ferry

  • Kombardo is also a good way to travel, while around half is on a bus, the rest you travel comfortably on a ferry.

  • You can book tickets here.

  • You can take the bus from the Airport or the city centre bus terminal.

Bus

  • Flixbus - perhaps a cheaper option.

  • Goes via the Storebælt (The Great Belt) bridge, takes longer.

  • You can book a ticket here.

  • Can book from the Airport or city centre bus terminal.

Car Rental

  • Won’t be needed to get around Copenhagen (or Aarhus), but would be useful closer to the venue as public transport is poor closer to the venue.

  • Expensive toll crossing the Storebælt bridge.

Billund Airport

No direct flights from Dublin (at the moment, used to be), but many throughout Europe where you could get a connecting flight. 1 hour and 30 minutes to Aarhus. 1 hour 50 minutes to the venue.

Bus

  • Bus from the Airport to Aarhus.

  • A timetable will be available here, although there will be a different summer schedule.

  • Can purchase a ticket on the bus with a card.

Bus/Train

  • Also an option to take a bus to Vejle, and from there a train to Aarhus. However, this isn’t as reliable.

Car Rental

  • Easy drive to venue or Aarhus from here, Billund is also home to Lego.

Aarhus Airport

  • Small airport, but closest to the venue.

  • Only a 10 minute drive to the venue. 30 minutes into Aarhus.

  • 4-5 flights a week to/from London Stansted.

Car Rental

Taxi

Taxi, or via Bolt/Uber directly to the venue

Bus

Bus into Aarhus, the bus will match the time of your flight landing.

Aalborg Airport

Another small/medium airport in Jutland, no direct flight with Dublin, best option would likely be a connecting flight via Amsterdam.

Train

Car Rental

Hamburg Airport

Another option, with direct flights to Dublin. I would only recommend this if you plan to spend a few days in Hamburg as well. Four to five hours to Aarhus.

Train

  • Train to Aarhus, Hamburg Central Station to Aarhus Central.

  • Will likely need to transfer at Kolding for another train to Aarhus

  • Leave the bus at Bjødstrup/Grenåvej

  • About a 20-25 minute walk to the venue, or perhaps someone at the venue could collect you

Other useful information:

  • Rønde is small town close to the venue, where you could book a hairdresser apointment, do some shopping.

  • Denmark uses Danish Kroner, not euro

  • Public Transport does not accept cash
